SHAPES Unlimited, Inc. is your full-service wholesale manufacturer and distributor of aluminum products. Alongside the profiles and coil we stock, we fabricate to order, so a one-off requirement does not mean sourcing from a separate shop or waiting on an outside vendor.
Our team runs punch presses, press brakes, aluminum cutback saws, routing machines for fence posts, and wool pile installation for window screen extrusions. Each machine is set up for a specific production purpose, which keeps parts consistent from the first piece to the last.
Every fabrication is overseen by a full-time Quality Control Manager and receives a visual inspection before it ships, so what leaves the building matches the spec that came in.

What kind of lead time should I expect for a custom fabrication job?
Lead times depend on job complexity, current shop capacity, and whether we already stock the base material. Standard fabrications typically ship within 4-6 weeks. Rush or high-volume orders may require longer lead time depending on equipment setup and QC schedule. For a firm turnaround estimate, request a quote with your drawings and required delivery date. Our customer service team will confirm availability and set expectations before you approve. We also manage Transportation for high-volume dealers if you need dedicated scheduling.
What files or specifications do I need to provide for a fabrication quote?
Provide as much detail as possible. Ideally, a technical drawing (PDF, CAD file, or detailed sketch) showing dimensions, tolerances, material type, finish requirements, and any special assembly or welding needs. Is there a minimum order or cost threshold for fabrication work?
We accept one-off fabrication jobs and full production runs. There’s no set minimum, but very small single-piece jobs may have higher per-unit costs due to equipment setup time. For high-volume requirements, we can optimize tooling and timing for better pricing. Discuss your volume and budget during the quote phase. Our team will be transparent about setup costs and help you understand whether fabrication makes sense for your order size. If you need ongoing production of a custom part, we can explore ways to make it more cost-effective.
Can you modify an existing SHAPES profile, or does fabrication have to start from scratch?
Both. If you need a small change to a standard profile we stock (extra hole, different length, small routing), we can often fabricate that modification faster and cheaper than starting from scratch. If you need a completely custom profile or assembly, we have the in-house capability to design and build it. The best approach depends on your specific need.
